Chestnut Barn is the smaller, cosier sister to Oak. The kitchen-diner is the first room you enter, the lounge has a leather reclining sofa aimed at the TV, and the rear patio has garden furniture, field views and very little else to worry about.
Overview
Chestnut Barn is the second of two renovated stone barns at Westfield, sharing the courtyard and twenty-seven acres of fields with Oak Barn. It sleeps four across two bedrooms — a kingsize master and a double room — which share the master en-suite with its slipper bath and corner shower. The fully fitted kitchen-diner seats four; the lounge has a three-seater leather reclining sofa and a TV. Fast Wi-Fi, EV charging, self check-in by lockbox, welcome pack on arrival, no pets or smoking. Book Chestnut and Oak together for a group of eight across the two barns.

Amanda was lovely and easy to deal with, always responsive and we had a lovely stay with all the ameneties we needed and it was very clean and comfortable. Next time we are competing at Onley Equestrian Centre we will aim to book again if the cottage is free. Highly recommend.

The house only has one toilet, which did not flush well. It took over 30 minutes to fill up every time it was used and when reporting this issue we were told that is just how it is. The WiFi was also incredibly poor with 1 of our 3 days without any WiFi at all and no 4g signal either

I had an amazing stay at the Chestnut Barn, which I used as a home base during a month-long planned visit to England. I chose this rental for its central location and lovely pictures of the countryside near the Oxford Canal. Both turned out to be extremely accurate and a big part of why I really enjoyed my stay. Going in I had no idea I would love sipping coffee and watching sheep, as I did several times when I returned to Braunston after a day or multi-day trip to other parts of England. I haven't changed my home screen on my computer for several years, but now it has the view from the back patio with sheep, a few canal boats, the rolling hills stretching to the horizon, and the beautiful blue skies I was fortunate to have while there. Amanda and Matt were extremely friendly and helpful during my stay, helping when needed when I accidently turned off the hot water (my bad) and also allowing plenty of privacy to enjoy the lovely setting. The interior was sparkling and enjoyable.

Chestnut Barn was beautifully furnished and equipped, with everything we needed. The hosts were super friendly and responsive, and finding tea and milk on biscuits on arrival was just lovely. Would recommend!

It was our first stay at the barn and we both loved the barn and the location it was very clean and felt homely with comfortable beds and a kitchen big enough to have a meal with friends with 4 local pubs and a convenience store all within a 5-10 minute walk it was an ideal location and a charming village to walk around or a walk on the canal path with a shop open for drinks and freshly baked bread overall the barn and the hosts surpassed our expectations hopefully return next time we visit family in the area

Excellent accommodation, spacious, clean, with all the expected amenities and some thoughtful extras - Christmas crackers & decorations, milk, biscuits, bread, tea & coffee, board games etc - a very welcome touch. We were able to park our horsebox safely in the layby leading into the drive, and park our car right outside the barn. The barn was charming, had a rustic feel with beams in each room, was well heated, had excellent water pressure and comfortable beds. We loved the village location with views out over the surrounding fields full of sheep. Our thanks to Matt and Amanda for a great stay and for being excellent & responsive hosts.

Matt's barn conversion couldn't have been more perfect for my family. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the living space and have all of the small touches that mean a lot when you're away from home. I would recommend anyone to stay here and I hope the space is available again next year.

A wonderful place to stay in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. Matt and Amanda could not have been more accommodating and were there for anything we needed (tomato ketchup for my 3 year old as an example!) The property is beautiful and so well equipped. We loved exploring Braunston and the surrounding area and Matt and Amanda's place was the perfect base.

What can I say, everything was excellent!! Spent 2 months at Chestnut Barn whilst moving house, it was a home from home. Very well equipped, everything to a high standard, could not fault it. Best nights sleeps we have had for years! The village and surrounding area is really lovely. Amanda and Matt are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend!!

Matt and Amanda were very welcoming and accommodating for our 2.5 year old toddler. We would definitely stay here again. It was sparkling clean. You can sheep from all windows! The location was good and it was comfortable. We were there for a whole month and wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful barn on the edge of Braunston with deliciously comfortable beds and lovely homely touches left for guests on arrival. All you'd need for a self-catering stay in luxury. The kids had fun choosing music for us to listen to on Alexa, too!

We spent a month in the Chestnut Barn and it was wonderful. It is a beautiful location (great for walks and close to a few local shops), the barn is very well equipped and Amanda and Matt are the perfect hosts - available when you need them but they also gave us plenty of privacy. We stayed for Christmas and the place was fantastically well equipped for cooking and hosting our small family. Lovely to have more than just the basics on arrival including bread, milk, eggs and a little Christmas present! Great beds and bedding too. Nice place to walk from down to the canal, along to the pub, if you get the time.
